Hi NU Club Softball Supporters,

This just in! The weekend of April 26-27th, we were in Elkhart, Indiana playing for the Regional Championship. Not only did we make history in making the Regional tournament, but we came away victorious! On Saturday we beat Michigan State (3-1) and University of Wisconsin-Madison (9-7). On Sunday, we won against Michigan State again (8-5) to secure both our Regional Championship title and our bid to Columbus, Georgia for the NCSA World Series Championship Tournament! We could not have asked for a more successful weekend.

The winter tournament you helped us put on was hugely beneficial in this recent success. It gave us the opportunity to play top-ranked teams we'd otherwise not see until post-season play. Knowing what these teams had going for them before facing them at Regionals was invaluable to our confidence and overall approach to the games.

With a bid to Georgia from May 16th-19th, we need to raise a bit of money to find ourselves able to travel. If there is any support you might be interested in giving, please follow the link below to the Northwestern We Will Campaign.

Dear Northwestern Club Softball Supporters, 

It has been a long time coming, but at last, we have hosted our winter tournament! We want to say thank you so much for your support throughout this endeavor; Chiberia Showdown was a great success. On the night of January 25th, we started play at 11 P.M. Yes, you read that right, it was a midnight tournament!! We started by losing a good fight to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (score: 8-5), and then basically won (but really had to revert back to a tie due to the time limit) against the University of Wisconsin-Madison (score: 2-2). Finally by 5 A.M., we had secured a sweet victory against the University of Michigan (score: 5-4). 

Here is a bigger picture of how the tournament went. Each team left with the following record:  

University of Michigan (2-1)

Northwestern University (1-1-1)

University of Wisconsin-Madison (1-1-1)

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1-2)

To say that this tournament was a small step forward for our program would be an understatement. Not only was it the first multi-team event Northwestern Club Softball has ever hosted, it was also our first time playing against these competitive teams. Playing other teams in the nationally-ranked Top 30 showed us just how far we can go this year. 

So, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your much appreciated support. We could not have done this without you! We hope to do this again in the future, and we hope when we do, you will join us again.

The NU Club Softball fundraising campaign has officially come to an end. To everyone who donated, thank you so much for your contributions. You have all been AMAZING!

Thanks to your phenomenal support, we are beyond excited to announce that we can begin planning for our very first club softball tournament here in Evanston!  We aim to host it this coming fall. Northwestern, as well as other universities such as Loyola, NIU, and Wisconsin Whitewater will all be able to benefit from this venture. Without your help, this would not have been possible, so thank you once again!

We want a rally, rally, rally!  LAST DAY to donate!

TODAY is the last chance to donate if you - or anyone else you know - would like to support NU Club Softball and help us host our first-ever home tournament in Evanston! Currently we have raised $3,850.  This has surpassed our goal!  Now, any additional funds will strengthen our club and ensure our longevity.  Please, help us secure NU Club Softball's place on Northwestern's campus for years to come, and help us convince those higher up that club softball should be recognized as an official club sport on campus. We can't do it without you!  Thank you so much!

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our cause. We have reached our original goal of $3,500, and now have the opportunity to go above and beyond that.

With TWO DAYS LEFT, we are stretching our goal to $3,800. With more money, we will be able to host more teams at our tournament than we originally planned. We'll also be able to purchase a better team bat!

Wow, we have now reached 80% of our goal! Thank you to those of you who have donated so far. We can now safely say that we can purchase new game balls, first-aid kits, and umpires for our tournament thanks to your gifts.  We can also almost fully pay for the local fields on which we will play our tournament games. But, we aren't quite all the way there yet... (ha! see picture below!) 

Since we're in the home stretch of our campaign, we ask for your continued support. Please continue to spread the word so that we can make the final push to our goal. Thank you so much!

As of now, NU Club Softball is officially halfway to our fundraising goal. Thank you!! We now can ensure that we will have umpires during our tournament games. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support. Your donations will have an incredible and lasting impact on our club softball organization once this tournament is planned and successfully carried out.

Hello!  A quick update on where NU Club Softball currently stands in our crowdfunding campaign. Today marks the first day we are "public" on the NU Catalyzer website!  What does this mean?  This means its even easier for people to give now.  Rather than needing a link, all one has to do is Google search "Northwestern Catalyzer," and NU Club Softball will appear on NU Catalyzer's main web page.

Thank you so much to those of you who have donated to NU Club Softball so far. We have now surpassed 25% of our goal!

No matter the amount of your donation, your support is greatly appreciated.  It will definitely have a positive impact on what we can do as an organization in the future. With the money we have raised so far, we will be able to purchase game balls and first-aid kits for our proposed tournament. But, there is still a ways to go to get this tournament up and running. In a way, 25% of our goal is like a .250 batting average. It’s good - but there’s room for improvement! Please keep spreading the word so we can continue to push toward our goal. Thank you so much!
