EXTRA INNINGS! A Stretch Goal is here!
Because of the great success of the campaign so far, NU Club Softball is excited to announce that we are stretching our goal from $3,500 to $3,800. The extra money will go a long way in making the tournament more successful and open to more universities and club teams. We also hope to purchase a new team bat. NU Club Softball is a relatively new organization on campus looking to broaden our reach and expand our name. We are a team of undergraduate women who play softball to compete, have fun, and diversify our rigorous study schedules with a bit of self-care and exercise. Friends on and off the field, the club softball team is so excited for a huge chance to #GrowNUCS and to grow the game we love!
The Project
Our team aims to host our first-ever home club softball tournament here in Evanston. This tournament will give us a chance to bring together several collegiate club softball teams—possibly including schools such as Loyola University, Northern Illinois University, and Whitewater Wisconsin.
NUCS hopes to change the assumption that club-level sports are not competitive. We hope to encourage a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship between a network of several university club teams.
We Need Your Help!
By donating any amount of money, you will support NU Club Softball in our quest to knock a home tournament out of the park! Money will go toward renting local fields, hiring umpires, and ensuring our teams have the proper equipment (balls, bases, first-aid materials).
We have the potential to make a name for club softball on Northwestern's campus and in other collegiate club softball programs. You hold the power to help us impact young and old softball players alike, and potentially earn the privilege of being considered an official club sport at Northwestern.
