Hi Everyone!

Thank you again for your generous support of the 74th Annual Dolphin Show last year. Gypsy was an incredible success due in huge part to your contributions.

It is already time to begin planning the 2017 production of The Dolphin Show during what will be the 75th year of this monumental institution. The team of the 74th Dolphin Show is very grateful and excited to welcome on board the new Dolphins, led by producers Bailey Sutton and Janie Dickerson. Below is a word from them:

Hi Everyone!

The Dolphin Show wants to wish all of our friends and DolphFam members a happy Thanksgiving. We are so grateful for all of the support we have seen from students, parents, alumni, and other fans. We surpassed our Catalyzer goal and could not have done it without the contributions from each person.

With rehearsals having started and the show opening in less than two months, we are also grateful for the 150 people working on this production. We are surrounded by so much talent, passion, and drive, and it is constantly inspiring and invigorating.

We Did It -- BUT There's Still Time!

Thank you so much for all of your contributions to our efforts to be sustainable! We have surpassed our initial goal and are at 104% of that! However, this is just a small portion of the money we are planning on raising for this initiative, and we have ONE DAY LEFT!!

Happy Halloween - We're So Close!

Thanks to all of you we are officially at 95% of our goal! We have so little left to fundraise through Catalyzer, so please share our page with all of your friends and family so we can raise this last bit!

 

Happy Halloween! The Dolphin Show had a mixer to celebrate the holiday and everyone was in top form, coming as Mario from Super Mario Bros, Mad Max, Kim Possible, and more!

 

Also, on Friday we held a photo shoot for our next teaser that will be coming out in the next month. We had a great time shooting in the green room of Cahn Auditorium, where our show will be performed in just a couple of months. Here is a picture from the photo shoot featuring our producers, Brandon and Alex, with Jessie, cast as Louise, in the center.

We're Getting Close!

Dolphin Works Hard and Plays Hard!

October 27, 2015

This past week, we at The Dolphin Show have been working as hard as ever. On the artistic side of the production, we recently had our design concept presentations. During this meeting, it was exhilarating to see the concepts designers have come up with and how they all fit together. The designers as well as our director and artistic producer have been in close contact and have collaborated so well already.

On the business side, we have chosen directors for our workshop of student-written musicals coming up in November. Additionally, we are planning a huge event with Mayfest, the producers of the largest student-produced music festival in the nation. Along with these events, we have been pushing Catalyzer to even more people! We are so excited about bringing sustainability to the theatre community!

At the same time, we have been bonding, with over fifty new team members having just been added to the company! Our company manager planned a scavenger hunt, and our team and cast had such an amazing time getting to know each other while running all over Evanston. We Have A Cast!

Last week, following thirty hours of callbacks, we got our cast! There are currently 26 people in the cast of Gypsy, but we are still auditioning for our Baby June and Baby Louise. 

And, at the end of last week, we began our team petitions. So far, over 50 people have interviewed to be on the team. The Dolphin Show is a completely open group, so we accept everyone who interviews -- the interviews are just held to determine the best place for each person on the team.

We are so excited about the work that has been done in the past week, because by the end of this week, the Dolphin company will have grown by over 75 people!

Thank You! We're in Callbacks!

Thank you so much for everyone who has donated to The Dolphin Show!

This week is very busy for us because we are in callbacks, preparing to cast Gypsy! We generally have 6 hours of callbacks a night, seeing anywhere between 20 and 35 people in that time. In these callbacks, we've been able to see amazingly talented students portray the characters in Gypsy, and it's been incredible. We feel so lucky to see this great show interpreted in so many ways by these individuals.

Something we discovered during callbacks was that we use a huge amount of paper making forms for callbacks and other events. So, we've decided to purchase a subscription to an online form-making website, so that we can customize our own forms and cut down on our paper usage! This is just another way that your gift is going to help The Dolphin Show be more sustainable during callbacks and throughout the rest of our process and in years to come.
