We would like to extend a final thank you to all those friends, family, and other supporters who made it possible for us to embark on our first-ever Asia Tour. This unforgettable experience not only advanced our group's performance quality and helped individual group members grow stronger as performing artists, it also fostered meaningful cultural exchanges worldwide through the unique power of music.
While in Asia, each of our ten performances brought with it a new learning experience — surprises, challenges, and incredible joys made each venue far beyond worthwhile. Whether answering questions about American universities for curious and eager high school students in a small town in Korea, performing alongside other a cappella groups at Peking University, or simply exploring the streets of Beijing, Hong Kong, and Seoul, Asia Tour proved to be more than any of us could have ever anticipated. We were also so grateful to able to interact with Northwestern alumni and get exposure to the breadth of opportunities available to us after undergrad. Overall, Asia Tour was an unforgettable whirlwind of performances, delicious food, generosity of families, exploring, endless shopping, sightseeing, bus rides, music, friendship, and so much more.
Thank you for helping us begin a new chapter in Treblemakers’ history! We hope that this tour will be the first of many Asia Tours to come. Since its founding, the mission of Treblemakers has been to spread East-Asian music around Northwestern’s campus and the world. Thank you for allowing us to finally be able to carry out our mission to its fullest extent!
Dear generous Catalyzer donors,
It's been a while since you have heard from us, but we haven't forgotten about you! We depart for Asia in just over two weeks on March 17th, heading to our first stop: Beijing. We could not be more excited.
Recently, we hosted a winter show, The Layover, which was our Asia-Tour send off show on campus. The show was very successful and we raised over $700 more to help us fund our tour. We have raised over $20,000 in total, including $2,000 from the President's Office. This tour would not be possible without your generosity, so each one of our donors was thanked in our program (see attached picture)! Thank you as well to all of you who gave anonymously.
We have confirmed an exciting line-up of performances for our tour. In Beijing, we will be performing at Dulwich College Beijing and the International School of Beijing. In Seoul, we will be performing at Myeongdok Foreign Language School and the Seoul International School. Finally, in Hong Kong, we will be doing a workshop with the Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation, and performing at the Chinese International School (CIS). We will also be connecting with the Northwestern alumni associations in Beijing and Hong Kong.
Thank you again, and look out for more news from us as we embark on this once in a lifetime adventure!
We cannot believe we were able to pass our super stretch goal, and raise over $15,000 towards our Asia Tour. The generosity of our supporters far surpassed our expectations, and we are incredibly grateful, humbled, and blessed. Thank you to each and every donor, without you this tour would not be possible.
We are incredibly excited to announce that we have purchased our flights to Asia, and we will be embarking on this adventure on March 17th, 2016. Thanks to your generosity, we will be able to introduce a cappella music to high schools in Asia, help bridge the cultural gap between the East and West, and take Northwestern's name abroad. Our dream is coming true!
We have reached our stretch goal and we are officially going to Asia! Words cannot describe how grateful, humbled, and blessed we feel to have amazing donors like you. Thank you.
We have now increased our goal to $15,000. We will use these funds to purchase publicity gear, produce extra copies of our studio albums to give out, and ensure no member of our group is unable to go on the tour due to financial constraint. These extra funds will help us go beyond need and invest in things that will make our tour extraordinary. Your support continues to make an impact.
We are excited to announce that we have reached our original goal of $8,000! Thank you to every donor for your generosity, none of this would be possible without you. Now, we have increased our goal to $12,000 in order to help send our six new members to Asia this Spring with the rest of the group. While we have made phenomenal progress, we still need your support!
Preparations for our Asia Tour are already in progress, and we wanted to share a bit of the rehearsal process with you! Two of our members, Bodhi and Gina, also wanted to thank you personally for your support thus far.
Thank you so much for all the donors who have supported us thus far! This past week was filled with exciting news for us! First off, we held our annual fall auditions and we finally got some awesome new members! We will keep you posted on the six new members that have joined our group. Second, we launched our Catalyzer project and have had 48 awesome donors contribute to our project! We are already more than halfway there and we are so excited to see our dream coming to life!
