About Us
Mayfest is the organization behind Dillo Day, Northwestern’s year-end music festival. Dillo Day is now one of the largest student-run music festivals in the country, with more than 10,000 attendees. It is a great tradition that brings together all parts of the Northwestern community for a day of celebration and music on the Lakefill. However, we also do so much more! Throughout the month from which we take our name, we produce a series of events designed to celebrate all that Northwestern has to offer.
Our Project
Dillo Day has always been a day of inclusion, fun, and community for Northwestern. We want to spread this throughout the entire month of May and use this positive energy as a way to spotlight the diverse talents and interests of our fellow Wildcats. We started to do this last year through Mayhem, a student showcase that highlights the many artistic talents of student performers, with acts ranging from a cappella to dance to comedy and much more. The event enjoyed a successful kickoff last year, bringing in seven acts and more than 300 student supporters. We know that Mayhem can be even better this year, and we need your help in expanding it to the next level.
How You Can Help
In order to expand Mayhem, we need to move it to a larger venue and feature more student acts. The event was free last year, and we desperately want to keep it that way. Your contribution will allow us to move into a bigger space and produce a longer event with more acts, while helping us to keep tickets free for anyone who wishes to attend.
