We are SO grateful and touched by your generous contributions to our club. The JASA Matcha Meet-Ups campaign has raised a total of $1,605, at 80% of our initial goal, thanks to your support!
Your gifts are making the Meet-Ups happen, and we really couldn’t have done it without you. We can now afford costs for matcha, promotion flyers, transportation, a Tea-Cere Matcha tea maker, and speakers for our 10 planned Matcha Meet-Ups in the 2018–19 school year—and many, many more additional resources to help kick-start our club!
We attached a video to express our deepest gratitude. Again, thank you so much for helping us spread both the wonderful taste of matcha and our wish to connect people together. Your support really helps student groups at Northwestern thrive and increase our impact.
To a new club like ours, the fact that you helped us reach 75% of our fundraising goal is amazing! Your generosi-tea is making immediate impact on the amount of matcha tea we can share with all attendees of our event.
Because Japanese Americans in the mainland US currently do not have strong geographical communities, their ties to culture and history are being lost. At Northwestern, we are the first active student group to bring Japanese Americans together through food and bonding events! Events like Matcha Meet-Ups will help us remember and share our unique cultural experiences and continue our journey to learn together.

We have reached over half of our fundraising goal! Thank you so much for all of your support! We can now buy a Tea-Cere Matcha tea maker, which will allow us to serve traditional matcha tea at our Meet-Ups.
Fun fact: Did you know matcha tea and much of Japanese food have a multitude of health benefits, including enhancing mood and aiding concentration, as well as increasing longevity among Japanese and Japanese Americans?
Matcha Meet-Ups will be a place where people can share the knowledge, food, language, traditions, and distinctive history that make up the Japanese American culture and experience. Thank you so much for helping to make it happen!

All of your support is helping us create Matcha Meet-Ups, a casual bimonthly discussion space open to all in the Northwestern community. These events help bring Japanese Americans together and connect us to people of other backgrounds interested in learning more about each other’s experiences.

Thank you so much to all the donors who have contributed to funding the first-ever public event for the Japanese American Student Association! We have already reached $565 of our fundraising goal. You all have helped us get started on funding for much-needed materials to promote our organization and bring experts from the Chicago-area Japanese American community to these Matcha Meet-Ups.
