Jersey Kits (Northwestern Women's Club Rugby)
Look good, play better:
Thanks to the extremely generous support of our donors so far, we are elated to have met our original goal of $3,030! We are now ready to purchase two new sets of jersey kits for our women’s rugby team. We have increased our goal to $3500 to purchase a new tackle ring and five new rugby balls. This new equipment will help our team grow and increase our tackling and game-play ability, so please continue to help us make phenomenal advancements for our team!
Who we are:
Women’s Rugby at Northwestern was founded in the spring of 1999, and as a member of the Chicago Area Rugby Football Union (CARFU) and the Great Waters Rugby Conference, we have been an annual competitor for league titles, playing matches against other college teams as well as professional rugby clubs. Our highly dedicated team is willing to put in the time to work on conditioning and weight training individually, on top of attending regular practices. That hard work has paid off: in past years, the team has been given the opportunity to travel both locally and internationally, with trips to Iowa, Michigan, Spain, Ireland, France, Germany , and many other places. By playing rugby, which is traditionally seen as a sport for men, our ladies want to empower other women and promote rugby as a sport that is open to all.
Why we need your help:
Our team is growing and becoming a more prominent member of the rugby community. While we’re excited to be part of this movement, we need the infrastructure to support it. With tournament fees, transportation costs, and referee fees, we lack the funds to purchase new jersey kits, and our current ones are more than 10 years old. We’re fundraising to purchase two new sets of jerseys (home and away) that will allow us to stay competitive and represent Northwestern professionally.
How you can help:
