Catalyzer Campaign for the Northwestern Alzheimer's Disease Center - 2 Days Left! $5 Dollar Friday

October 30, 2015

The faculty, staff, and students of the Northwestern Medicine Alzheimer’s Disease Center would like to thank the over 285 donors who have contributed to our Catalyzer campaign over the past 30 days. You have helped us raise more than $25,000 that will kick start the initiative to build new research space dedicated to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. We are overwhelmed with the generous support that has made this the most successful crowdfunding campaign to date at Northwestern.

We also would like to thank our partners in the campaign who have dedicated their time and effort to making an impact in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Jason Boschan of Run4Papa, Northwestern University alumnus Michael DeComo, and Jordan Gross of They Forget, We Remember have been the champions of this effort through many months of planning and hard work.

Though we have reached our original goal, we still have lots of work to do. We have two days left in this campaign and thus have increased our goal to 350 unique donors and $30,000. Please consider making a small $5 contribution to help us show how many voices are united in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. This is the final FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAY and we know we can reach our goal of 350 donors with your support.

Northwestern Students Hold Charity Ride to Combat Alzheimer's

October 23, 2015

They Forget, We Remember, the first ever undergraduate group at Northwestern University that addresses the issue of Alzheimer's disease, held a charity bike ride at Soul Cycle in the Loop last Sunday.  Students came out to support the cause and raised $500 for the campaign. Special thanks to members Brodie Olson and Jordan Gross for setting up the ride.

We are proud to announce that the campaign has broken the Northwestern Catalyzer record for unique donors at 136 and we stand at 64% of our $25K goal with 8 days remaining.  Today marks the second Five Dollar Friday as we continue to climb toward our goal of 200 donors.  A small donation can make a big difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Please consider making a $5 donation and passing this on to anyone who wants to get involved in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

Chicago Marathon - Soul Cycle Charity Ride - Five Dollar Fridays

October 16, 2015

We have been overwhelmed by the generous support of this campaign to help build a new Alzheimer’s Disease Center at Northwestern Medicine. The campaign has raised close to $15k from over 100 donors in 15 days. We have just over two weeks left to reach our goal of $25k and greatly appreciate your continued support.

Two of our project leaders, Jason Boschan and Kevin Connolly, ran the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday in support of this initiative. 26.2 miles is a small sacrifice to make in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

They Forget, We Remember, a group of undergraduates united in the fight against Alzheimer’s, will be holding a charity bike ride on Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 at Soul Cycle in the loop. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to this campaign.  Bikes are going fast so please sign up soon. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided afterward and for more information, please visit: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/they-forget-we-remember-charity-ride-tickets-18892955338

We also are happy to announce that FIVE DOLLAR FRIDAYS starts today and will continue the next three weeks. The goal this week is to get 50 donors to contribute $5 to the campaign by midnight on Friday. Please help us by spreading the word to as many people as possible knowing that a small donation of $5 can make a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related disorders.
