Our Mission:
The Northwestern Entrepreneurship Summit (NEST) was founded in 2015 by two budding Northwestern entrepreneurs who wanted to create a platform for students and Chicago entrepreneurs to inspire, educate and learn from one another. As a gathering of students and entrepreneurs from diverse communities and disciplines, NEST aims to spark dialogue about the most important issues and innovations in today’s startup world and become an anticipated annual event for innovators. By featuring a keynote speech, startup exhibition, and workshops, we wish to foster discussion on entrepreneurship and disruptive innovations in order to educate and inspire and to create an ecosystem that facilitates connection and collaboration among entrepreneurs.
NEST2018:
Last year, we had a great crowd and three amazing speakers including Howard Tullman, the CEO of 1871.
NEST 2018, with the theme Ignite Chicago with Diversity and Inclusion, wishes to showcase the successes of the most innovative and diversity-minded entrepreneurs and communities in the city to local college and high school students. We also wish to discuss Chicago’s evolution as a startup hub in the Midwest and the key challenges facing the city. We have Scott Ryles, the COO of KPCB, confirmed as one of our keynote speakers.
How You Can Help:
Because NEST is a student-run summit that invites a large number of speakers, startups, and audiences from all over the country, NEST requires many resources to be successful. We have large speaker costs, and it is important for us to keep the event free to Northwestern students and local high school students. To accomplish this, we need your help in making NEST more sustainable.
To help us, you can:
· Donate! Even $10 goes a long way!
· Share this fundraiser with your friends and on social media
· Attend the summit in May!
Because of you, a high school student will be able to attend NEST for free.
Your donation will go towards booking the venue and operational costs.
This will help cover the travel expenses for startups to attend and share their stories.
You’ve helped cover the expenses of marketing and make the event truly successful!
This will allow us to get successful startup founders to speak at our event.
