WHO WE ARE
Alternative Spring Break is annual trip in which a group of law students from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law travel to Mississippi to volunteer their legal services. Northwestern partners with the Mississippi Center for Justice, with offices in Jackson, MS, and Biloxi, MS, to work on a racial and economic justice projects. In the past, students have worked on a variety of projects, including special education advocacy, post-Katrina housing litigation, and BP oil spill recovery efforts. Alternative Spring Break allows students to provide much-needed legal assistance to those who cannot afford a private attorney while developing important lawyering skills. WHY WE'RE ASKING FOR YOUR HELP
To offset the cost of this service trip for students, our goal is to raise money to cover the cost of transportation. Students travel by bus to Mississippi, and we estimate that cost to be $2,000. Thank you for your support!
