Hello! Thank you for taking the time to view our Generation Conscious project and what it can do for the Northwestern community. Every gift brings us closer to making the closed loop refill stations a reality on campus! The Generation Conscious Zero Waste Hygiene Equity program is a vehicle to create structural change. First, closing the loop will minimize respiratory diseases in low income areas. If 2 out of 3 people refill sheets instead of buying liquid equivalents, then we can achieve a 45% carbon reduction in the hygiene category. Second, it is a financial source of revenue. In just over a year, Generation Conscious has granted 1% equity and paid a starting salary of $75,000 (or more) to first-generation, low income students as product managers, ESG organizers and more, helping them to secure internships and jobs in climate tech careers. 

With your help, we will inspire a new sustainability model that addresses waste as a sign of inefficiency and equitably redistributes funds to low income areas. Closing the loop on consumption is vital to saving our planet, but economically empowering those most affected–and offering equity for their contribution- is paramount in achieving environmental equity.
