In partnership with Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, I will be running the Chicago Country Sole Half Marathon this October and I am asking for your help in raising $5,000 to fund early-stage cancer research at the Lurie Cancer Center.
For the past two years, I have been a part of the Associate Board of the Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center, which is a group of young professionals dedicated to funding and advancing cancer research, education, patient care, and community benefit through the cutting-edge research being developed by investigators at the LCC. All funds raised go towards our Innovative Research Award, which will provide critical seed or bridge funding to an LCC scientific investigator conducting basic, translational, or clinical cancer research studies. This award will fund promising novel research at a crucial stage in the physician or scientist’s career, with the promise of leveraging this support for larger grants from other governmental or nonprofit agencies in the future.
We are currently at an inflection point in many cancer treatments and technologies and the funding provided by our Innovative Research Award can make all the difference for these potential scientific improvements.
The Lurie Cancer Center, Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, and I truly appreciate your support in this mission!
