Who We Are
We are the Theme Park Engineering & Design Group (TPED) at Northwestern University, a group of students with a passion for themed entertainment design! TPED was founded in 2020 with the mission of introducing students to the themed entertainment industry, providing a platform for theme park enthusiasts to collaborate, as well as supporting professional development of students interested in careers within this industry. Essentially, we love theme parks and attractions and enjoy designing them too!
Project Overview
This year, TPED is designing, planning, constructing and operating a haunted house on campus to celebrate Halloween. Last year, we brought a haunted house to campus for the first time ever and were met with amazing success, with over 500 students coming to experience it. We are excited to make haunted house an annual tradition!
This haunted house project will be an invaluable opportunity for our members to gain experience in bringing our designs to life and build our portfolio. Designing and building a haunted house attraction is no easy feat, and we need to fundraise in order to cover construction costs and operational phases of the project. The funds raised will go to building the spooky sets we design for the attraction, creating an immersive atmosphere through lighting design, as well as costumes for our scare actors.
How You Can Help
Here’s where you come in! With your support, we can make this haunted house even bigger and better than ever! You can help by supporting our Catalyzer fundraiser—even small amounts go a long way in helping us reach our goal. Also, share our fundraiser page on social media! Send it to anyone you know who loves haunted houses, Halloween, or anything spooky!
