Triathlon can be a very expensive sport. Help the Triathlon Club purchase team equipment to help members participate in this year’s Collegiate Nationals.
Every year, the Northwestern Triathlon Club participates in the USAT Collegiate National Championship (or Nationals for short), one of the biggest collegiate conference races in the US. This olympic-distance race consists of a 1500m swim, 40km bike, and 10km run. However, triathlon is an expensive sport. While our organization covers travel and board through membership fees, providing adequate equipment for all members interested in racing continues to be one of the largest barriers to participation. This year, we’d like to expand accessibility to racing triathlons by purchasing bikes and other equipment for their members. By providing equipment for members, our team hopes to allow more individuals to experience and perform their best at Nationals. In order to do this, we aim to purchase two more team bikes (approximately $450 each). Additionally, we plan to purchase bike maintenance equipment—such as tires, inner tubes, and spare parts—for older bikes. Finally, we’d like to provide other racing materials such as goggles and water bottles for our members. Your gift, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to helping our members get to Nationals!
