Who We Are
UNITY Charity Fashion Show is a student organization that collaborates with other groups on campus throughout the year for events that raise awareness and funds for the largest fashion show at Northwestern. We end the year with the largest fashion show at Northwestern, where student models and student designers showcase and celebrate culture and diversity through collaborating with local Evanston and Chicago stores and receiving clothing donations from international students on campus.
This is UNITY’s 10th year, and we are excited about initiatives to further engage with our partner GirlForward and the Northwestern community. We want to highlight and showcase women empowerment through fashion and identity by hosting a variety of events throughout the year. As an added bonus if can raise enough to put on our fashion show, we will bring the girls from GirlForward to campus for these events in order to truly bridge the connection between Northwestern and GirlForward and establish a greater level of engagement.
Our Goal
We are hoping to raise $800 this year to put on the fashion show. It is a very significant amount of money that can help us make this year’s event the best yet and be able to really make an impact on the programs at Northwestern and GirlForward. These funds will support the largest fashion show on campus! It will also go toward expanding the program of the fashion show to add segments that would increase awareness for our partners!

Through this show we can then better the education and mentorship program at of Northwestern students and help GirlForward for these teenage refugee girls, showcase the Northwestern community and help them have more opportunities to succeed in the future!

Did you know we’re sponsoring student designers this year? We are! But to help fill requests such as fabric purchasing and sewing machine use, we need your help. Your gift helps aspiring designers prepare their line for the show: $75 dollars creates a piece that can be a student designer’s ticket into the fashion world.
