Our Crowdfunding Groups
Our team needs your help in making our 2021-22 season a great one! We are fundraising for new equipment so we can hold team practices and keep us competing at a high level.
Who are we?
Northwestern University Women's Club Soccer (NUWCS) is a part of the Women's Midwest Alliance Soccer Club (W-MASC) League. We play competitively against teams in the Great Lakes region. Every year we hold tryouts for female and non-binary students and select new players solely on soccer ability. We are a close-knit, dedicated team that spends many hours every week improving as individuals and as a group. NUWCS provides a fun and inclusive environment that allows Northwestern students to continue playing the sport they love while fostering a unique community within the university.
Why is new equipment important for our team's success?
With the fall season rapidly approaching, NUWCS is incredibly excited to travel and play club teams from other universities for the first time since Fall 2019. Our practices are extremely important as we prepare to compete. While old equipment might not seem like a major detriment, it does harm the quality and efficiency of our practices significantly. For instance, for our team of approximately 30 people, we currently have 10 soccer balls. That is not even enough for each player to have a ball of their own when we work on individual footwork or fitness drills. Furthermore, our current team soccer balls are old, worn out, and unable to hold air for more than one practice session. At the beginning of each practice we have to dedicate the first 10-15 minutes attempting to inflate the soccer balls fully. A new set of high quality soccer balls as well as other updated equipment would allow us to spend more time developing our soccer skills during our two or three weekly practices.
