The Purple Line gives Northwestern figure skaters the opportunity to continue their love of skating at the university level. This team competes against other colleges and universities during our competition season, and hosts an annual spring figure skating exhibition for friends and family. Membership on this team has fostered personal growth and added greatly to all of our Northwestern experiences!
We are a group of students with diverse backgrounds and interests that intersect at figure skating. We are in multiple undergraduate and graduate schools, and many of us wouldn’t have met if not for this team.
This project will benefit the Northwestern community and those on Northwestern's campus who have a passion for figure skating. Competing on a club team can get quite expensive. Every year we need to pay for custom outfits, competition registration fees, practice ice time, and transportation/lodging while at competitions. These expenses can quickly add up and make the team less accessible to Northwestern students who wish to join. Our goal is to make figure skating at Northwestern a possibility for all student skaters!
Additionally, the pandemic has prevented us from practicing this fall. Hopefully we'll be able to skate and compete in the winter or spring, but in order to skate our best, we'll need to spend lots of time on the ice. Your support will ensure that we can represent NU well at competition.
Please give to or share our campaign, every dollar counts!
