Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NCAA and the Big Ten Conference cancelled all spring 2020 regular season competitions and championships. As a result, Northwestern’s spring sports senior student-athletes lost their final season of competition. In late March, the NCAA extended the eligibility of these student-athletes for an additional season of competition. The Athletics COVID-19 Assistance Fund will support covering the unexpected costs of scholarships, nutrition, travel, and other expenses related to an extra year of eligibility for this group of student-athletes, as well as provide funding for other unforeseen COVID-19 financial implications. Our goal is to continue providing this group the world-class experience we pledged and allow them a proper conclusion to their collegiate athletic careers. |
Performance nutrition pack for one month per student-athlete sent to their residence
One month supply of nutrition bars for a small team (tennis, golf, basketball, etc.)
Kettle bells for a medium size team (softball, field hockey, etc.) for at home workouts
15 day supply of Gatorade powder for a large team (swimming and diving, football, lacrosse, etc.) to support at home nutrition
