We have one final update on "We're the Marvels"...

Applause for a Cause is proud to announce that we raised a grand total of $2821 for the Howard Area Community Center through the production and premiere of our film!

We cannot thank you enough for your generous support throughout this process, and we're so excited to see it all come together in support of this great cause – we hope you are too!

There are only a few more days to watch We're the Marvels! Thank you so much to everyone who has already watched the film - we've raised almost $400 so far, and we couldn't be happier to be able to support the Howard Area Community Center through this! We really appreciate your responses to the film - it means a lot! 

If you've yet to see the film, it's available through Thursday! After that night the film will be taken down from the Applause website, so don't miss out on your chance to see our movie! As a reminder, the film can be accessed through our website, applausenu.org.

Today is the day! At 7pm CST tonight, We're the Marvels will finally be released! We can't wait for you to see the movie, and we hope you're just as excited!

Here are the all the instructions on how to access the film:

1. Any time after 7pm CST tonight, go to our website, applausenu.org. DO NOT put "www" into your browser when navigating to the website - for some reason, it makes the website not load. Why? We don't really know, we're film majors, not computer science :)
2. The home page of the website will have the Vimeo page right there for you to access. Click the big "Rent" button, and then enter your payment information to purchase your $5 ticket. All proceeds from the tickets benefit the Howard Area Community Center! 
3. After you buy your ticket, you'll have a 48 hour window in which to watch the movie! The beginning of the video contains a foreword message from a few of the key team members of our team, like we would have done at the premiere, so don't miss that!
4. The film will remain live on our website for one week following the release, thru January 21! So, you can start watching at any point that's convenient for you.

We're just 10 days away from the day you've all been waiting for - the release of We're the Marvels! It's been a long road to get here, but the day is finally arriving!

As a reminder, the film will release virtually on the night of January 14th, and be available for viewing at your own convenience for the next week after that. There will be a $5 fee to view the film, and all proceeds will go to our beneficiary, the Howard Area Community Center. We'll be sending along another update with more specific instructions on how to watch closer to the day of the release, so be on the lookout for that.

It's been awhile, but we're so excited to announce that We're the Marvels will have a virtual premiere on Thursday, January 14th! While we were unfortunately not able to show our film in person this fall due to COVID and logistical issues it has caused, we can't wait for everyone who contributed to making this film happen finally being able to see the finished film! Save the date - the film will be shown that night!

We'll be releasing the film  that night, and it will remain available online for the next week or so. That way, you'll be able to watch the film at your own convenience. We're hoping that this can enable more people to be able to watch the movie, and raise more money for the Howard Area Community Center!

Thank you so much for your patience as we've navigated finishing the film in the turbulent environment caused by COVID. We're really excited by how the film is coming out, and we can't wait to share it with the world.

Last week, Northwestern University made the decision to remain remote for the rest of the school year, meaning that we will not be on campus for the scheduled dates of the premiere. With that change in mind, we have decided to postpone our premiere to the fall...

We’re the Marvels is now scheduled to premiere on Northwestern’s campus on October 9th and 10th!

Ticket sales will still go directly to Howard Area Community Center, our beneficiary for the year. This is an excellent opportunity to give back while getting to enjoy the film that you have helped us create. 

Stay healthy and stay safe, we hope to see you all in the fall!

Although the past few days have been difficult and stressful for all of us, we wanted to pass along a bit of good news: after many weekends of long, hard work over this winter, we've wrapped production on We're the Marvels! 

We couldn't have done this without your generous support, and are so grateful to each and every donor to our campaign. You've helped bring this amazing story to life, and we hope you're as proud as we are!

As we enter post-production, we'll be posting updates here about our plans for our premiere of the film. For those outside of the NU community, the school has currently moved classes online until April 27th at the earliest, with the potential for that to be extended further into the Spring Quarter. Editing of the film will continue to happen regardless of our return to campus, and we plan to have a finished film on schedule in late May!

Our premiere dates are currently scheduled for May 24th and 29th on the Northwestern Campus! You'll get to see the finished film, and all ticket sales from our premiere go directly to our beneficiary, the Howard Area Community Center - you won't want to miss it! In the event that a return to campus for students is not possible and necessitates moving the premiere, the likely outcome is that we will have the premiere during the 2020 Fall Quarter instead. Stay tuned for updates here and on our social media channels for more information down the road!

Our fundraising campaign for this year’s Applause for a Cause film, We’re the Marvels, is now complete!

Thanks to your generous contributions, we’ve managed to raise an unbelievable $9,425! Through your support, we have the opportunity to produce a great film, engage creative students at our school, and make a difference in our community. All proceeds from ticket sales at our spring premiere will go toward the Howard Area Community Center!

We made it to our goal! Thank you so, so much to everyone who gave! We now have enough to bring “We’re the Marvels” to life, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

But the work isn’t done yet. Our campaign runs until November 13, so you can still give until then! Any and all additional funds are greatly appreciated and will benefit not only this year’s film but all future Applause for a Cause productions.

That’s right, only 7 days left to reach out goal, and we are so close! Help us to finish strong in this final week by spreading the word or donating, if you’re able. Every little bit helps support both student filmmaking and the Howard Area Community Center. We are so grateful for all of the support we have already received. Let’s get to that goal!

We’re getting closer - we’re 75% of the way to fully funding our project! Thanks to your generous gifts, we’re now able to afford costs such as location fees and props and costumes and we can pay our actors for the amazing work they’ll be doing to bring We’re the Marvels to life!
