The Northwestern Internal Medicine class of 2008 has established a memorial fund to Honor Steve Macaluso. Steve is the late husband of Dr. Alexis Dunne who is an alumni and former Chief Resident of this class. Steve passed away at age 42 from angiosarcoma. He leaves behind 3 children. Angiosarcoma is a very rare form of cancer that affects less than 300 people per year.
The money raised with this fund will go directly to support cancer research under the direction of Dr. Mark Agulnik. Dr. Agulnik personally took care of Steve during his 2 year treatment of this aggressive disease.
