The Niteskool Project was founded in 1983 at Northwestern University as the first student-run music video production company in the country. For the past 35 years, the Niteskool Project has achieved unprecedented success as a student organization, producing professional-level content and providing invaluable hands-on production experience for undergraduate students. The Niteskool Project has been recognized by MTV, Nickelodeon. the College Television Academy, and Billboard Magazine for its work.
For the past two years, Niteskool has been producing a live concert series known as ‘One Takes’. ‘One Takes’ captures live performances through high quality audio and video production. Niteskool has filmed the ‘One Takes’ series in a variety of unconventional spaces, such as Deering Library and D&D’s Supermarket.
The weekend of May 17th, Niteskool is inviting anyone who participated on the project since its inception back onto campus for a series of networking events, live performances and speaker events. The purpose of this event is two-fold: on the forefront, we would like to celebrate the rich legacy of the Niteskool Project and recognize the individuals who contributed to its excellence. Secondly, this event will serve as a platform to connect undergraduate students to successful NU alumni in the entertainment industry (music/film/television/radio/etc.). Through a multitude of career panels, networking events and keynote speakers, undergraduate students will have the opportunity to build relationships with these highly impressive alumni. All of the above listed activities, including the live concert being held at the end of the event, are open and free to all Northwestern students
