What drives us?
The Northwestern University Solar Car Team is an undergraduate student group dedicated to the education of others. The entire purpose of our car and competition is to show the world that it is possible to travel thousands of miles without a single drop of gasoline.
Where does your donation go?
For this year's Catalyzer campaign, the Northwestern University Solar Car Team is focused on purchasing essential components for our team’s future development and success. Because we are in the midst of finishing our current car, Seven, we have to begin designing and purchasing materials for our next generation vehicle, tentatively named SC8. Thus, we plan to allocate any funds we raise from Catalyzer 2019 to the development of our newest and best vehicle to date.
How you can help?
Seniors! Give back to the Northwestern community by giving for your senior gift
Working with composites, high-voltage equipment and epoxy may be dangerous. However, with your generous donation, we can safely work on our car without the risk of injury.
Harness the power of the sun! With your donation, we can cover the cost for an array of solar cells for our newest and best car, allowing us to travel that much further during the race!
With your generous donation, we would be able to pay for the epoxy and resin chemical agents that hold our car together.
To keep our car light yet durable, we rely on composites materials including carbon fiber and fiberglass. With your generous donation, we would be able to offset the cost of such vital materials.
Like any vehicle, the solar car needs tires to run off on. With your donation, we would be able to purchase a new set of tires, allowing us to partake in many more trial runs, and competitions.
To cure the carbon fiber for our next car's monocoque design, we need to rent out a space to ensure the entire car is evenly treated. Fortunately, your donation would allow us to complete this vital step in our manufacturing process.
Help us participate in our next race. With your generous donation, we hope to race our newest car in the next Formula Sun Grand Prix!
