What is the Student Activities Scholarship Fund (Student Activities Assistance Fund)?
The Student Activities Scholarship Fund (SASF) (also known as the Student Activities Assistance Fund (SAAF)) was created in 2012 to remove financial barriers to student organization activities so Northwestern students can fully participate in enriching experiences, regardless of their economic background.
More than 90 percent of undergraduate students are involved in registered student organizations, which include fraternity and sorority chapters, club sports, and many other groups.
Through the SASF/SAAF, students can apply for confidential, need-based assistance so out-of-pocket expenses like chapter dues or member fees, conference travel, service trips, group excursions, and specialized equipment or apparel do not stand in the way of their participation in student groups.
Why We Need Your Support
Applications to the SASF/SAAF have doubled every year since 2015 and are at an all-time high. This year, the SASF/SAAF has received applications from more than 500 students so far. Northwestern was able to offer assistance to a significant number of students—but the fund was not able to meet the needs of all of our students.
The University wants to continue providing assistance to as many students as possible, but in order to do this, we need your help!
Please consider making a gift to the SASF/SAAF today and sharing this project with fellow alumni, parents, and friends of Northwestern.
Together, we can ensure all students can make the most of their time at Northwestern.
