Discover Islam Week (McSA)
Who Are We?
The Muslim Cultural Student Association (McSA) aims to provide students with the opportunity to come together in a supportive Muslim environment on campus. The organization holds numerous events that showcase Islamic ideals and traditions. From our weekly general body meetings to our annual speaker events, the McSA has played a great role in shaping Muslim life and the discourse about our faith on campus. We bring speakers to campus with the purpose of broadening the minds of the Northwestern student body, opening their hearts to a different culture, and hopefully creating an understanding of the Muslim people and their way of life.
Why Are We Raising this Money?
Discover Islam Week is an annual event that consists of speakers and firesides with the goal of teaching and spreading awareness to the greater Northwestern community. It is meant to provide an understanding and appreciation for the Muslim way of life. This crowdfunding campaign will not only help us provide spaces in which people can learn about Islam, but will also provide additional workshops about Islamic culture.
How Can You Help?
A week full of events is a momentous task, and like any event we require funds to ensure their success. Every dollar improves the success of our events. We can afford to bring big name speakers to campus, and bring different perspectives from across the world. Your donations allows us to hang a banner rather than tape flyers on printer paper. By sharing our cause on social media, you can bring attention to a group that is trying to bring positive messages in an atmosphere filled with fear and understanding. Our goal is to raise $2000 so that Discover Islam Week is an immersive and fulfilling experience that engages our Northwestern community in a productive and positive dialogue.
