Updated goal!
We hit our goal of $5000! Thank you SO much for your support! Thanks to your support, we can now buy over 10 suits, 15 shirts, and 15 ties. We are now looking to raise an additional $1000 with 10 days left to go! This additional money would help students even further by allowing us to purchase items such as briefcases, portfolios and shoes, that can be used along with the suits, ties, shirts, etc. to further prepare students the best way possible for their interviews, information sessions and networking events. Our original plan was to purchase solely the clothing necessary but with the support that we have received recently, we can now help students further by offering them these additional resources too.

What is NUThreads?
NUThreads is a new organization at Northwestern created to fill the recognized gap between need and available resources on campus. NUThreads is devoted to making sure that all students have the resources to be appropriately dressed for networking events, job interviews, formal events, and other on- and off-campus activities.
After surveying hundreds of students, NUThreads discovered that:
How does NUThreads work?
NUThreads operates by lending formal clothing to students free of charge. We hope to have clothes available in every size and for all genders. However, there are significant holes in our inventory. Surveys of students have shown which sizes are in highest demand. Now we need your help to purchase clothes to fill in these gaps.
Why should I give?
We have worked very hard over the last two years to turn this idea into a reality. We have made tremendous strides toward a fully functional and staffed closet including building a good inventory base, being recognized as a campus organization, and acquiring an office in the Northwestern Career Advancement center. With your help, we can make this closet fully operational. With your help, we can take steps toward alleviating the burden that socioeconomic status places on student participation in professional and extracurricular activities. With your help, we can make an immediate impact on the lives of hardworking students.
