Ballet Folklórico seeks to promote international expression through the use of traditional song and dance in order to increase awareness of our members' ancestry and encourage others in the Northwestern community and beyond to revive interest in their own ethnic backgrounds. This culminates in our annual spring showcase, typically held during April or May.
After taking a brief hiatus, we are hosting our second annual spring showcase since the pandemic! It will be April 22, 2023 in Ryan Auditorium.
Like many other organizations on campus, we require funding to support the costs associated with producing our spring show. Some examples are outfits and filming. Ballet Folklórico works to maintain the cultural integrity of our performances by using vestuario, which are traditional outfits that are aligned with the history of folkloric dance. In addition, we are also asking for funds to support camera and video production, as we want to be able to have a way to have this showcase available for future students and members, as well as the general public.
Your donation will support a full outfit for one of our performers!
With your support, we will be able to purchase a complete outfit for our performers, including special performance boots!
With your support, we will be able to provide outfits for an entire dance piece (typically between 6-8 people)!
Our show strives to protect its cultural integrity! Your support provides full outfits for an entire dance piece, as well as photography and video!
