Who are we?
Seesaw Theatre strives to enrich the lives of autistic and otherwise disabled individuals by increasing their access to theater and fostering the use of multisensory performance as a channel for expression. We pursue this mission through a rich season, which consists of interactive performances, workshops, and education. Some highlights of our season include an inclusive theater conference in the fall, workshops led year-round by our Seesaw-trained teaching artists, and sensory-based shows in the winter and spring.
What are we doing?
This year’s spring show will focus on outer space, giving audience members the chance to explore the smells, sounds, sights, and textures of the galaxy we will explore together. The students will have complete agency to experience the show in the manner that best serves them as their Northwestern guides empower them to find their inner astronauts.
How can you help?
Make a gift through this Catalyzer page! Every gift gets us closer to our goal.
We also encourage you to share this page with anyone you know who supports student-produced and accessible theater!
With this gift, one of our young astronauts can make a pre-show craft to bring with them into outer space.
Sponsor the creation of our show’s sensory equipment, the items our young audience members use to explore the smells, sounds, sights, and textures of the galaxy we create together.
This gift will allow us to costume one of our characters and help the outer space magic come to life.
With this gift, we will be able to rent set pieces to create a vibrant and safe solar system for our audience members to explore.
Gifts at this level will facilitate the rental of professional lighting equipment so that our colorful galaxy can burn bright.
