What makes NUsolar unique?
The Northwestern University Solar Car Team is an undergraduate student group dedicated to education through manufacturing. The entire purpose of our car and competition is to show the world that it is possible to travel thousands of miles without a single drop of gasoline.
Why are we raising money?
For this Catalyzer campaign, we seek to fund an essential component of our team’s future development– the lightweight carbon fiber aeroshell! All funds will support our team’s effort to purchase the material and equipment time needed to construct this one-of-a kind component, providing unique manufacturing opportunities to the 30+ members of NUsolar!
How can you help?
We are hoping to raise $5,000 through your generous support to cover the cost of the raw carbon fiber required for our next solar car. Any donation you can make will be immensely helpful in helping our team pursue its solar-powered vision. Even if you are unable to donate, please share our campaign with anyone you think may be interested in our mission! From all of us at NUsolar–thank you!
Provide gloves and masks for our team to safely handle carbon fiber composites
Provide the chemicals that we need for the manufacturing process
Purchase the raw materials from which we will construct our vehicle
