Help support one of the country’s best Bollywood fusion dance competitions, celebrating South Asian culture and raising awareness about educational inequality.
Who are we?:
Tufaan Entertainment is a Northwestern student organization that aims to promote the celebration of South Asian culture and raise awareness of educational inequality across the globe. Throughout the year, we plan to host a variety of programming leading up to our signature event: Tufaan 2022. Tufaan is one of the most competitive and well-run Bollywood fusion dance competitions in the country, inviting the best dance teams from across the country to compete. And this year, we are especially excited to be producing the 10th annual show!
Why are we fundraising?:
Like many organizations, the challenges of COVID-19 have forced us to rethink how we can produce our show and continue celebrating South Asian culture in a new environment. Typically, we finance the costs of our show through ticket sales, sponsorships from local businesses, etc. However, due to the pandemic and its economic effects, we’re looking for new ways to help finance our show.
Tufaan 2022 is a celebration of South Asian culture, which aims to bring students from across the country together to celebrate an important cultural art form. For Northwestern students in the South Asian community, Tufaan is an opportunity to build on and celebrate our common culture. For the broader Northwestern community, Tufaan is a chance to expand one’s mindset and learn about new cultures, with the goal of building understanding.
Furthermore, we plan to use the show as an opportunity to raise awareness about educational inequality, showcasing the stories of students at Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, a school in Tamil Nadu, India that provides students with a world-class education to help break the cycle of poverty.
How can you help?:
Make a gift! All gifts will go directly to help produce Tufaan 2022, from video editing and streaming software, to judging fees for the competition and sanitation products if we are able to invite dancers to campus.

With this gift, we can purchase disinfecting wipes to be used as part of our broader efforts to produce our show while adhering to all health guidelines on sanitation and social distancing.

With this gift we will be able to increase our marketing reach through boosted social media posts and advertising on campus.

With this gift, we will be able to pay for the videography and photography that are necessary to produce a high quality show.
With this gift, we will be able to reserve Cahn Auditorium which would provide a large space for the competition as well as allow the competition to be accessible to Northwestern students.
