Who We Are
Founded in 1975, the National Society of Black Engineers has grown to become one of the largest student-run organizations in the world. Throughout the country, NSBE hosts outreach events, builds professional networks, educates young students about STEM fields, and provides funding to help its members succeed professionally and positively impact the community. This last activity is part of the NSBE mission statement, and the Northwestern chapter promotes it by fostering diversity and inclusion on campus while also providing opportunities for professional development.
Our Project
In support of both providing professional development opportunities and encouraging diversity of background and thought, we intend to host a panel of speakers in the winter of 2017 who will hail from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds. These speaker will talk to the student body about their personal experiences and, more specifically, discuss how diversity has affected them in their work. The Professional Panel event will be open to all Northwestern students and faculty, free of charge.
How You Can Help
Your gift will enable us to hold our professional panel, putting many bright Northwestern students in contact with people who have the knowledge and experience necessary to help those students succeed. Each gift will fund transportation and accommodations for our speakers, as well as equipment for the event itself. We hope you will choose to support us, and we thank you for your generosity.
