Who We Are:
Knitwestern is Northwestern’s only knitting club! We have members of all skill levels, teaching beginners how to knit while providing a space for experienced knitters to practice their craft. All the items we knit are donated to different groups in and around the Northwestern community. For the past two years, we have been creating a space for students interested in knitting to come together while learning to knit beautiful and practical winter items for donation to organizations in the surrounding community.
Our Project:
Knitwestern is fundraising to purchase knitting supplies to make warm winter items for Northwestern service workers and their families! The money we raise will go towards purchasing yarn and knitting needles, shipping supplies to our members across the country, and sending finished items back to Evanston for donation. We will be making hats, scarves, and cowls for service workers at the University and their families to thank them for their invaluable contributions to our community.
How You Can Help:
If you have the means, we would greatly appreciate any size gift you can make towards our cause! Please make sure to spread the word about our project to your friends and families, as well as on social media, so that we can provide as many winter items as possible for service workers at Northwestern!
A donation of $10 helps us purchase a pair of knitting needles for a new member!
$15 allows us to purchase a pair of knitting needles and a skein of yarn for a new knitter!
$25 will allow us to mail a pair of knitting needles and yarn to a member currently residing outside of Evanston!
