To celebrate our fifth year as a club, Real Food at NU is hosting a series of events called the Farm Foods Fest. NURF was founded in 2015 and succeeded in convincing Northwestern to sign a campus commitment to achieve 20% “real food” by 2020. Our club of vegans, mountaineers, gardeners, and more come together to work towards a more sustainable and just food system. Whether this means working with the administration to implement ambitious goals, fighting for composting in more common spaces, or just sitting around eating good food, NURF is passionate about its commitments. We hope to use the funds of this project to expose the Northwestern community to the realities of the system and to celebrate local and ethical farmers. Through a series of speakers, farm visits, and cooking demos we hope to supply our peers with the tools to facilitate living a low-impact lifestyle. Your donation would allow us to bring local chefs and farmers to campus to speak about the importance of their practice or to give us hands on lessons to make sustainable cooking easier. You can help us help others improve their nutrition and carbon footprints by making our dream of a Farm Foods Fest a reality, and foster education and awareness for our community.
