Our Crowdfunding Groups
Northwestern Pritzker Law is kicking off the holiday season with a day of giving to students in need.
Last year, we launched the Student Assistance and Relief (STAR) Fund, which provides small emergency grants to students. Many of our students have generous scholarship packages, but these do not cover housing, family, and health emergencies that can disrupt students’ lives and prevent them from finishing their degrees. The STAR Fund bridges the gap for students without a personal financial safety net and ensures all our students have the opportunity to succeed.
The size of a student’s grant depends on their need, but a typical grant is $2,500. As part of this year’s #CatsGiveBack Giving Tuesday campaign, we’re promoting a day-long effort to raise $12,500 – or five emergency grants – for the STAR Fund.
Last year, the STAR Fund helped 23 students through emergencies and offset job preparedness costs for an additional 16 Public Interest students. This year, more students will face emergencies and turn to the Law School Community for help. Your donations will provide the support they need to continue their educations.
