Volleyball Tournament (Women's Club Volleyball)
Who are we?
NU club volleyball is more than a team; it is a family. For as much as we care about winning (check out the photo of us at nationals with our trophy!), we pour just as much energy and enthusiasm into our team dinners, board game nights, and beach picnics. This is what makes us special: we balance competition with fun. Ours is a team of friends, both on and off the court!
Why are we raising this money?
The Northwestern Women’s Club Volleyball Team is working towards hosting a home tournament for the first time in four years. Due to new sports facilities renovations, Northwestern now has the capacity to hold a volleyball tournament that can host up to 16 teams from various universities.
We are incredibly excited to host a home tournament! Not only will hosting allow for club teams from various universities to visit and enjoy Northwestern, but the Northwestern community will be able to conveniently watch the NU Women’s Club team doing what they do best: playing volleyball.
Funds will go towards buying game balls, paying refs and administrative officials, and creating merchandise to be sold to visiting teams among other things.
Additionally, the money we raise from our tournament will help fund our trip to the National Tournament this year! For the first time in recent history, the club volleyball national tournament is being held in Denver, Colorado—a very long way from Evanston, Illinois! As we will not be able to drive to this tournament, we need to raise money for airfare for every player, as well as hotel costs, entry fees, food expenses, and more, totaling around $1,000 per player. Traveling to nationals is THE highlight of our year. It is a time to showcase the work we put in all year long and to bond as a team, and we will not be able to go without securing these crucial funds.
