Purple Line Synchro Season (Figure Skating Club)
The Purple Line competes against other colleges and universities throughout the Midwest during our winter competition season. Last year we were gold medalists at Synchro Green Bay!
We are a group of students with diverse backgrounds and interests that intersect at figure skating. We are in multiple undergraduate schools and many of us wouldn’t have met if not for this team. Membership on this team has added to all of our Northwestern experiences greatly!
Competing on a club team can get quite expensive. Every year we need to pay for custom outfits, competition registration fees, practice ice time, and transportation/lodging while at competitions. These expenses can quickly add up and make the team less accessible to Northwestern students who wish to join. In the past few years the team has been growing, and we are now positioned to put Northwestern on a larger, more competitive stage in the figure skating world. Our team will be seen by more students looking at Northwestern for their college education, which may help us recruit skaters to this school and our team.
